Terms of Service

1. Appointment Booking

• Appointments are confirmed upon successful payment or deposit through our online booking system.
• By completing a booking, you authorize Aura Aesthetics by Amy to charge your card for the selected service, deposit, or any applicable cancellation or no-show fees in accordance with these Terms.
• For deposits, the remaining balance is due at the time of service unless otherwise stated.
• You must be at least 18 years old to book. Clients under 18 require written parental or guardian consent, and clients under 16 must have a parent or guardian present during all services.

2. Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We understand that schedules change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both clients and our business:

• 72+ hours notice: Full refund (minus payment processing fees).
• 48–72 hours notice: 50% refund.
• Less than 24 hours notice: No refund. You will receive 25% off your next service (up to 50% of the cancelled service's value).
• No-shows: Treated the same as a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice.
• Late arrivals: Your appointment time may be shortened based on schedule availability. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule.

3. Payments & Refunds

• We accept credit/debit cards (processed via Stripe), Zelle, and cash.
• Payment is due at the time of booking or at the time of service, depending on the payment method selected.
• Refunds, when granted per the cancellation policy above, are issued to the original form of payment. Processing time may vary by bank or payment provider.
• Service refunds outside the cancellation policy are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If you are unsatisfied with your service, please contact us within 48 hours.
• Gratuity is appreciated but never expected.

4. Client Responsibilities

To ensure safe and effective treatments, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information about your medical history, current medications, allergies, and skin conditions.
• Disclose any recent procedures (e.g., Botox, fillers, peels, laser treatments) before your appointment.
• Inform us of any communicable conditions, open wounds, or active infections.
• Follow all pre-care and post-care instructions provided by your esthetician.
• Arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.
• Notify us immediately of any adverse reactions following treatment.

Withholding or providing inaccurate health information may increase risks and complications. You assume responsibility for any consequences arising from undisclosed conditions.

5. Treatment Acknowledgment

By receiving services, you acknowledge and agree that:

• All services are cosmetic esthetic treatments, not medical procedures. You should consult a physician for medical concerns.
• Results vary by individual and are not guaranteed.
• Some treatments may cause temporary redness, sensitivity, peeling, bruising, swelling, or minor irritation.
• You have disclosed all relevant medical and skin history information.
• You will follow all aftercare instructions provided.

6. Service-Specific Considerations

Certain services carry additional considerations that will be discussed during your appointment:

• Waxing: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning products for 48 hours prior. Certain medications (e.g., retinoids, blood thinners) may be contraindicated.
• Chemical Peels & BioRePeel: Discontinue retinol, tretinoin, and strong actives as directed before treatment. Downtime including peeling and sensitivity is expected.
• Microneedling: Common side effects include swelling, redness, and bruising that typically subside within 48 hours. Post-care compliance is essential.
• Brow Lamination & Lash Lift: Disclose any sensitivities to perming or straightening chemicals.
• Buccal & Lymphatic Facials: Not suitable for clients with active/inflamed acne, open wounds, or recent injectables (within 2 weeks).

Your esthetician will review contraindications specific to your booked service before treatment begins.

7. Liability & Release

• Aura Aesthetics by Amy is not liable for adverse reactions resulting from undisclosed medical conditions, allergies, failure to follow pre/post-care instructions, or conditions outside our reasonable control.
• By receiving services, you release Aura Aesthetics by Amy and Amy Margolis from liability for known risks associated with cosmetic esthetic treatments, provided services are performed competently and within standard esthetic practices.
• We maintain professional liability insurance.
• All services are provided in accordance with Chapter 477, Florida Statutes, and the Florida Board of Cosmetology regulations.

8. Communication Consent

By providing your email address and/or phone number during booking, you consent to receive appointment confirmations, reminders, follow-up care instructions, and occasional promotional communications from Aura Aesthetics by Amy. You may opt out of promotional communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly. Transactional messages related to your appointments cannot be opted out of.

9. Photo & Media Release

We may request to take before/after photos for documentation or marketing purposes. Photos are taken only with your explicit verbal or written consent and will never be used without your permission. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or notice on our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes arising from these Terms or services provided shall be resolved in the courts of Broward County, Florida.
